Exciting Updates- May 2014

Lots of exciting things are happening here at HOPE!  Join us in Praising God!

1.  We had a WONDERFUL evening in Stamford for our Annual Evening of Praise and Fellowship.  It was so nice to see many long-time supporters and to share a meal together.  THANK YOU for joining us and for continuing to support the work in Duchity- especially the need for Solar Power.

2.  Because of your generosity, we have been able to ship our starter set of Solar Panels down to the library.  They will be installed and running in time for our summer teams.  Yay electricity!!  We still have a long way to go in order to provide power to our community but we are excited to be moving in the right direction.

3.  We also had a great evening with our Summer Ministry Team from Eastford Baptist Church as they held a spaghetti supper to raise money for their trip this summer.  We are excited to partner with them for a second time!

4.  We have three different groups headed to Haiti this summer!  Each team will be using their unique gifts and talents to bless the Duchity community.  We have team members teaching First Aid/CPR and Nursing Skills.  Other team members will be holding Leadership Training seminars.  We will have multiple weeks of Vacation Bible School for the children, evening Revival services, a women’s outreach event and a carpentry outreach for youth.  All teams will spend time visiting the community, blessing community members and gaining a greater understanding of Haiti.

5.  We are looking forward to bringing new books for the HOPE Library.  Visit our Amazon Wish List to select a book (or two) to donate.

We also will be purchasing books in Haiti to add new titles and reference materials to our circulation.

Continue to pray that God’s work goes forth in Haiti!  Thank you for all your support and prayers!
